SNOW In Ellijay Georgia!
Ellijay, Georgia experienced it's first snow today. Schools and businesses closed early. At 4PM, laughter from kids enjoying the snow could be heard in Historic Downtown Ellijay.

Treasure Hunting in the North Georgia Mountains
Eric Kennedy and daughter Cassie from Tampa, Florida enjoy panning for gold in a local stream near Ellijay, Georgia in late December 2009. In this same area, recently they found an indian arrowhead. Eric, Cassie and their family make regular trips to the North Georgia Mountains to explore the rich natural environment. Ellijay, Georgia is only about 1 hour north of Atlanta.

New Business Signs in Historic Downtown Ellijay
On Friday November 20th, 2009, City of Ellijay Mayor Al Hoyle using a bucket truck, installs new business directional signs on existing light poles. The signs were offered to Historic Downtown Ellijay businesses at no charge by the City.

Bear Surprise!
On October 30th, 2009, Sarah caught these three black bears by surprise when she snapped this picture on the deck of her Ellijay cabin. Since this incident, she has installed a custom designed bear-proof trash container now available through TGIF Cabins.

Apple Arts on The Square
Historic Downtown Ellijay welcomes the Looney Family from Atlanta. Thousands were in attendance on October 10th, 2009 to sample local treats and purchase arts and crafts.
